Amy Smart is an American former model and actress. Her modelling career began in Italy in Italy, where she was raised before being born in California. Her Costly Affair, a 1996 TV film which was her first film role. The struggle she had to get the role for Starship Troopers, a film with mainly minor roles was a gruelling battle. The transition was difficult for Amy since she needed change from modeling to the acting profession. Models aren't considered great actors, so they usually get smaller, insignificant roles. Amy persevered. She worked her way up to greater roles, starting in The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. In the course of a couple of years Amy stepped into bigger roles. Amy was in the 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds. The film was a major commercial success, and Amy was finally able to get the success she'd been striving for for over a decade. There were several major films within the Crank trilogy alongside Jason Statham. And she was also a regular character on The Shameless series.
