Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Paquin, born in Winnipeg and raised by Wellington Paquin's acting debut was as Flora McGrath. For this role she received an Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress for the romantic drama The Piano at the young age of eleven. The actress is second-youngest winner in Oscar history. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin was born on July 24, 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster for Best Supporting Actress for playing the enthusiastic and curious daughter of Holly Hunter's main role in The Piano. After responding to a call for open auditions when she was nine and having no acting experience before that the actress was chosen for Flora McGrath's part. Flora was the daughter of a Scottish musician who was blind. They moved from Scotland to New Zealand during the middle of the 19th century in order to plan a wedding. After moving in New Zealand, in the United States, she became an adult. Paquin began her career as a child with a role of the Jane Eyre protagonist in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre followed by a major part of Fly Away Home. Paquin was in the role of Frankie Addams, a character from Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 her character was the Spanish queen in a smaller role. She played teenagers as part of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) as well as her character of the polexia Aphrodisa character in Almost Famous (2000).
