Despacito is a song by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi, and Daddy Yankee became the song that was streamed the most in less than six months. The combination of reggaeton and pop music not only brought attention back to this genre but it also brought attention to Latin music as a whole. In Billboard's Top 100 in 2015 had two songs mostly of Spanish languages, while the year the year 2016 featured four. However, during the heights of the Despacito's popularity in 2017, there were 19 mainly Spanish tracks that made the Top 100. And in 2020 the number was 41. Following the time that Justin Bieber released his bilingual remix of Despacito in 2017, popular artists began to collaborate with reggaeton artists. Drake and Bad Bunny were part of a team for the track MIA MIA (2018), while Madonna joined forces with Maluma for Medellin 2019, which was released in 2019. Reggaeton's mainstreaming was an issue for some artists in the year 2020. Rauw alejandro and a young generation, however, determined to maintain the style. It often blended elements from electronic dance music as well as other forms.
